Apulian kylix of the Gnathia ware.
Black glazed drinking bowl "Kylix" on a profiled ring base with horizontal, upwardly curved handles that extend beyond the edge of the bowl. The inside of the bowl is painted in white, red, yellow and black. A garland of leaves runs around the inside edge. In the tondo there is a stag running to the right surrounded by a white circle with black lines and a red border.
The bowl has a rough surface and traces of sintering in places. There are ancient firing defects on one side. Otherwise intact.
Acquired in 2022 from the Viennese antique trade, previously in the Austrian private collection R. Z. since the late 1990s.
