Ancient Iberian Bronze Figure - Standing Male

Ancient Europe, Iberian Peninsula, Iberian culture, ca. 6th to 2nd century BCE. A fascinating bronze sculpture of a male figure depicted standing nude with legs together and arms lying parallel to his body. Capped with a helmet-like headdress, his minimalist visage presents annular eyes beneath a straight brow, a large nose, a prominent nasal bridge, and an incised mouth, while his lanky body exhibits a slender figure with jutting feet and delineated genitalia. Size: 0.6" W x 2.4" H (1.5 cm x 6.1 cm); 3.7" H (9.4 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: East Coast collection, New York Gallery, New York City, New York, USA, acquired before 2010
