Old Italian fresco A ceiling fragment from the 18th century Beautiful ceiling fraction taken from a vault or dome Transferred to canvas for conservation purposes - Framed in wooden slats Dimensions: 32 x 90 cm - Estimated dating: 1720 - 1750 - Origin: Tuscany, Italy - ceiling fresco - mural cycle RVC archive Good condition It comes from RVC Restauri - supplementary and preservative restoration. These kinds of frescoes were detached between the 1960s and the 1970s because they were decorative or school frescoes. Free circulation, without restrictions or limitations. The pictorial shortcomings, the gaps, the voids, are characteristic of the mural painting and not flaws. The current conservative state is the result of restoration and does not require any intervention by the final acquirer. Between the 18th and the 19th century in Italy, a considerable number of Italian painting masterpieces were pulled away and detached from the vaults of churches and chapels and from the walls of public and private buildings, where they stood for centuries, and were then transferred to safer places, into picture galleries and galleries in Italy and half Europe. Collection purposes were often hidden behind the official preservative reasons.
