Ancient Luristan Bronze Short Sword / Spear Blade
Ancient Near East, northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. A lengthy bronze blade for a short sword or a pole-mounted spear with an elongated triangular profile. The tapered blade features a petite tang for affixing a handle or pole, and the thick midrib is flanked with a pair of thinner ribs all the way down to the pointed tip. Layers of green and brown patina cover the entire weapon in color. Size: 16.4" L x 2.25" W (41.7 cm x 5.7 cm)
