Ancient Near East, ca. 1500 to 1000 BCE. A hand carved stone mace head with a circular foot, thick neck, and bulbous head covered in a pattern of vertical carved ribs stretching from top to stem. The lovely natural coloring of the stone ranges from cream to caramel to mocha, fading into each other in some areas and sharply changing in others. An exemplary piece of ancient Near East weaponry! Size: 2" Diameter x 2.875" H (5.1 cm x 7.3 cm)

Provenance: ex Estate of Eldert Bontekoe, Pegasi Numismatics, Ann Arbor, Michigan USA acquired before 2000
