Ancient Pre Columbian Jalisco Seated Figure c. 1st cent B.C. - 2nd cent A.D. Size 8 3/4 inches high. 5 1/2 inches wide. Fine seated hollow pottery male figure, in hieratic style with stiff postures and staring eyes. Great example of the style, a tall headdress, shoulders surfaced with small "pellets" that have been interpreted as scarification patterns. His bodily proportions long face, arms, large torso. Fine quality and details. Provenance: EX: Seymour collection acquired the collection in the 1970's, Ex: Estate of Leonard Davis deceased 2005, Gifted to Leonard Davis from Margaret Reisberg.
