Ancient Late Roman Bronze Applique and Plaque with an Embossed image of the Famous Mythological crature- the Griffin (a Hybrid between two animals-an Eagle and a Lion) . The most powerful and emblematic animals the ''king'' of the animals the Lion and the ruller of the sky- the Eagle symbolizing the strenght and invincibility. The animal is well known and beloved from the early ancient times and very popular in the mythology and the culture of the Greco-Roman world. Very well preserved with a brownish-green natural patina.
