Ancient Roman Bronze Figurine of Eros(greek, from there is the word erotic) or Cupid ( the roman equivalent of Eros) was son of Aphrodite (Venus) the goddess of love erotic and Ares (Mars) the god of the war. Eros was wigned god of a love, desire and erotic and was represented mostly naked and in different positions and attributes. Eros was very popular in the roman world and different varieties of his figurines beloved because erotic took a significant part from the life of the Romans. The wings and both hands are broken, otherwise very well preserved and masterfully shaped with proportional body and in movement which is much difficult than just static figurines. With a lovely olive green natural patina. Size: 7,2cm. Item No. K42 Purchased by the current owner in 2011 in Austria, Wien from Collector fair. Collected Since: 1970's.
