Ancient Roman Bronze Luxury Oil Lamp Richly decorated with two Embossed Lion Heads and an Oak Leaf. Elegantly shaped with two loops and a handle behind the leaf. Extremely rare type from the late 1st. Century and the beginning of the 2nd. Century AD with an emerald green natural patina with only a small area of an iron deposits. Lions Heads are Symbol of IVth. Legion ''Flavia Felix'' Legio quarta Flavia Felix ("Lucky Flavian Fourth Legion") , was a legion of the Imperial Roman army founded in AD 70 by the emperor Vespasian (r. 69–79 AD) from the cadre of the disbanded Legio IV Macedonica because they took the side of the Emperor Vitelius in the Civil war of 69 AD. The legion was active in Moesia Superior in the first half of the 5th century. The legion symbol was a lion. The leaf is slightly bent with a small crack on it. Unsignificant scratches on the surface. Almost Intact. An extremely rare type with zoomorphic and floral elements, probably from an inventory of a legionnaire. Material: Bronze Date: 1st.
