Treasure chest made up of 44 coins from the Roman Imperial Period, 1st Century AD. – 4th century AD

A hoard of 44 coins from the Roman Empire in a terracotta container, two fractured terracotta foot or base sections of a Roman amphora used as a coin concealment container.

Contents of the lot: 44 coins of the Roman Empire, two terracotta amphora bases, container where the coins were hidden.

44 Roman bronze coins.
Different coin models, from sestertius, As, dupondio or small like Æ Folli of Divus Constantine I. . . up to a total of 44 coins.
Different states of conservation. No type of intervention has been carried out on the coins and amphora sections, preserving their original state or the same state in which the lots were acquired. See details in the photos. The collection allows expert cleaning to be carried out on some of the coins with deposits attached, these have been maintained in the same state of acquisition.

Roman Imperial Period, 1st Century AD. – 4th century AD
Coin dimensions: 11 mm - 31 mm.
Total weight of the 44 coins: 151 gr.
Condition: different states of conservation.

- Long-spout terracotta amphora foot or bases, possibly Dressel 1 Italic.
Dimensions: 11cm X 5. 7cm. Weight 240 grams.

Total weight of the lot: 391 gr.
This lot of two amphora bases and 44 coins belong to a larger lot
Current acquisition in Gallery specialized in Archeology and ancient art 1998.
The coins retain their original antique patinas. No restorations.

See details and dimensions in attached photos. In good condition. Acquired in 1998 in a specialized gallery. A copy of the certificate/s of authenticity and a copy of the catalog are sent with the object/s.
