Superb roman bronze strigil with curved blade and handle. With two stamps on the handle and incised lines decorating the blade.

The strigil was a tool for the cleansing of the body by scraping off dirt, perspiration, and oil that were applied before bathing. In Ancient Greek and Roman cultures the strigil was primarily of use to men, specifically male athletes. | Rome. 1st-2nd Century A. C.

Condition: Mineral deposits and surface wear but good condition.
