Ancient Roman Golden Ring with a Nicolo intaglio with an inscription VTERE FEL (LIX is implied) which means Good luck to the one who wear it or use and be happy! The inscription in typical roman style consist a ligature-TE is practically one letter. The weight of slightly more than ten grams is showing the significance of the ring having the weight of one and a half aurei at the period. A small decorative globe at each side when the ring is connected to the bezel. A lovely agate entire gemstone with excellent two shaded blue color (light and dark blue) so called ''Nicolo'' and one of the most popular roman formula for luck engraved with a typical roman style using a ligature which is rarer than the normal inscription on two lines. The bezel is slightly inclined and only some insignificant small scratches, otherwise very good grade of preservation and still wearable! Very rare! Material: Gold. Date: 1st. 2nd Century AD. Size: D-2cm. /L-2,6cm. Weight: 10,05g. Item No. H19 Purchased by the current owner in 2011 in Austria, Wien from Collector fair. Collected Since: 1980's.
