Ancient Roman Jasper Gemstone engraved with a Night Hunting Scene of a Lion attacking a Horse. Half Moon and a Star above. This rare example displaying not also a simple hunting scene, the animals are not static but in movement in the moment of catching. The open Lions Jaws and the paws already covering the body of the Horse are giving a dramatic feeling. The Half moon and the Star are small but significant detail that the scene is during the night.
