Ancient Roman Lead Exceedingly Rare Seal of the yongest son of Constantine I the Great- Constans I in profile to the right, wearing paludamentum and a pearl diadem. D from Dominus (Noster) which was the most common formula of the emperor during the late roman empire and means Our Lord (see the coin of the same ruler among the photos) . Lovely realistic portrait. The seals with the emperor himself or members of his family circulated and were used from the administration during this period in the roman Empire. Very well preserved and still very well visible portrait- bust in profile. See Photo Extremely rare especially from this very rare emperor Size: 1,6 cm. Purchased by the current owner in 2016 in Austria, Wien. Collected Since: 1980's. Previous owners history: Old Austrian Private Collection.
