Ancient Roman Marble STATUE OF JUPITER - 42×29×14 cm - (1)

A superb roman marble statue of the god Jupiter depicted standing, he wears drapery slung over his left shoulder and around his waist, revealing the well defined muscles of his torso, an eagle resting against his feet with the wings partially spread, its head now missing. The two stand on an integrated base. Back almost without carving. | Rome. 2nd-3rd Century AC. Dimensions 42,00 x 29,00 cm. Condition: Surface wear and mineral encrustations. Some losses to the sculptural group. Excellent condition Provenance: Acquired to E. B Antiquarian, Barcelone in 2014. Ex E. B. Private Collection - Barcelone, Spain.
