Ancient Roman Pottery bowl with decorated handles - 3.5×25×30 cm - (1)

It is nice to see two discolourations of two hair needles in this bowl (oxidation of the needles) . The primitive decoration is very reminiscent of the bowls found in Holdeurn / near Nijmegen, see the last three photos of publication. Southern European specimens have much more exclusive decorations. Condition of the bowl - intact, was somewhat deformed during the oven process. The bowl comes from a private collection, it was acquired by the collector in the late 1980s and purchased in Maastricht. VSKMcollections purchased it in 2019. Important information: For transportation within the European Union, no export license is required for this lot. Due to the importance of this object, an export licence will have to be requested as soon as it is to be shipped outside the European Union. This should be done via the Heritage Inspection of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. This can only be done after the sale and may take some time.
