Ancient Thai Ban Chiang Bronze Bracelets (pr)

Southeast Asia, Thailand, Ban Chiang, ca. 300 BCE. A large pair of bronze bracelets whose rings have fused together over time. One bracelet is comprised of three thick bands and, while coated in earthen material, also displays areas of russet-hued bronze and pale green patina. The second bracelet is made from six similarly-sized bronze rings, each fused to its neighboring bands, with one halfway separated from the adjoining band. Each bracelet has a thick layer of earthen material along both interior and exterior surfaces. Size: 4.75" H (12.1 cm).

Provenance: private Rochester, Michigan, USA collection
