Ancient agate Dzi bead, Liao dynasty
An elongated cylindrical-fusiform bead (千年古珠), polished from natural agate in earthy brown and greyish tones. It features sinuous veins that form expressive concentric ‘eyes’ with white outlines and dark irises, and is drilled lengthways for stringing. Liao Dynasty (916–1125) or later.
