Julius Caesar, as Dictator for the Fourth Time and Consul for the Fifth Time (44 BC). AV aureus (22mm, 8.08 gm, 9h). VF, repaired, edge filing. Rome. CAES DIC-QVAR, bust of Venus right, wearing pendant earring and stephane, hair rolled and pulled into knot at back of head / COS•QVINC, legend within wreath. Calicó 42. Crawford 481/1. Sydenham 1021. Iulia 30. Evidence of repair, thus ineligible for encapsulation. Nicely centered strike on a broad flan.
