Anders Beckman 1907–1967 Swedish Air Lines / Aerotransport vintage poster
Caption Brief: As was the case in another Beckman design for Aerotransport, he places the Swedish aircraft as close as possible to the viewer and high above terra firma. In doing so, he creates an incredibly solid impression, making the plane appear more concrete than the architecture below. This holds especially true in the poster seen here, where the airfield and hangar–though surely just shrouded in fog–appear to be little more than a phantom presence.
1935

Induns Tr. Esselte, Stockholm
Provenance: Collection of William Crouse
