Exceptional oil on canvas of a rare beauty, made by the famous composer André Jorrand (1921-2007) : it represents the pond of Chevillat, near Aubusson at dusk. Dated 1989 and framed in a beautiful complimentary Def frame. Size of the painting alone: 50 x 65 cm A multi-talented artist, André Jorrand comes from the Jorrand family that created the famous Aubusson tapestries. After his prize-winning musical studies, he devoted himself to composition and wrote numerous works. At the origin of the creation of the Association of the Friends of the Aubusson organ and the Festival "Musique au cœur de la Tapisserie" in Aubusson. André Jorrand also expressed his talent through painting, notably from 1983 onwards in the municipal workshop of Charenton. His works have been exhibited in several salons, salons of French artists, Salon d'Automne in Paris as well as by many municipalities,. . With a harmonious and colourful palette, based on various techniques (gouache, watercolour, oil) , his work exalts atmospheres and visions dear to his heart, from the Creuse to Brittany or the Esterel without forgetting the landscapes of Ile-de-France. His paintings began to sell for quite a bit of money following his death in 2007. A good investment.
