Andy Warhol (American, 1928-1987). Limited Edition screen print, ink signed by both Warhol and the subject, titled Jimmy Carter II. One of two prints commissioned by the Democratic National Committee in 1976 depicting Jimmy Carter (born 1924), President of the United States from 1977-1981, for his presidential campaign. The portrait depicts Carter with a gleaming smile, and Warhol embellished the image with rich red, blue, and peach on the subject’s face and hand. Edition 21/100, artist signed and numbered in felt pen lower left, also signed by Jimmy Carter above Warhol signature. Presented in a decorative matte and mottled Modernist silvertone frame. Fair estate fresh to the market condition, having moisture rippling in areas; print has not been fully examined out side of sealed matting. Selling as-is, as-described physical and photographed condition. Gallery encourages interested parties to physically inspect the work. Measures 38 1/4 in. x 28 1/4 in. (sight), 51 in. x 41 in.
