Raised in an artistic environment. Even though her parents were not very well off, they paid for her to study painting via private lessons, and by studying at the Amsterdam Conservatory, main subject: vocals, for 8 years. She was then a soloist with the Dutch Opera for 20 years. She married the painter and critic Freek van den Berg (✝ 2000) , married again with the painter Bas Konings.
