Anonimo - Madonna del Carmine

Beautiful oil painting on canvas, late 1700s / early1800s period, depicting Our Lady of Mount Carmel. This work, by an anonymous author, is definitely remarkable and is entirely decorated with hallmarked silver. The silver parts weigh 300 g (see photos) . I believe they were commissioned after the painting and were made by a skilled silversmith (hallmarked 5 = silver quality, Naples hallmark, silversmith hallmark) This is therefore a UNIQUE work. The measurements are about 60 x 50, or 72 x 60 including frame (which features mecca gilding. Some photos show the painting in the purchase condition (from a private collection) . The paint was restored and the silver parts have been removed, cleaned and reattached with new threads. (The only small missing part is a tip of Our Lady's crown)
