Album leaf, ink and colour on silk, with silk-brocade border, glazed and framed, bearing spurious seals of Sheng Mao (active circa 1310-1360) reading Sheng Mao 盛懋 and Zizhao 子昭. 24cm (9 1/2in) high x 23.2cm (9 1/8in) wide.

Exhibited: Asiatische Kunst, Bern and Zurich, 1941 (according to the collector's notes)

A trip to New York, Chicago and Washington in 1937 was the starting point for Mrs Gret Hasler's interest in Chinese art. This she continued until the Second World War by acquiring objects from dealers in Paris, Sweden and New York.
