Monogrammed and dated lower left: AF70.
On the reverse of the frame it can be read that the sheet was purchased at an exhibition in Berlin in 1880 after Feuerbach's death. The drawing was then kept at the Behr Negendank estate, later owned by the von Bismarck-Bohlen family.
Until recently, it was held in the University Greifswald. Restituted to the rightful owners on 16 October 2023.
