Beautiful etching of this most famous Dutch landscape artist Anthonie Waterloo (1609 - 1690) from the 17th century. This is one of the larger etchings Waterloo made. 24 x 30 cm. The etching shows a forest landscape with a shepherd boy sleeping on a hill, with sheep grazing on the meadow and a broken fence in the middle; from a series of six landscapes. The etching is signed in full on the bottom left with on the bottom right an addition of ‘6’. Work of Waterloo can be found in the Rijksprentenkabinet and the Mauritshuis.
