It has been inspected and cleaned by our experts. This antique carpet proves the cherished durability of Sarouk carpets. It could be a real investment. Origin: Iran Provenance: antique US Sarouk Pile: 100% new wool Warp/weft: 100% cotton Rarity, collector's item Finish: hand-knotted Condition: in very good condition, very slightly thin pile in spot (see XXXL photos) With certificate of authenticity. Shipment: with GLS Items exported to the USA in the early 20th century are particularly expensive today. Sarouks manufactured until 1960 are offered as 'antique Sarouks'. [3] All of these carpets were very thin and small in the early 1900s because they were made in private households. Sarouks were in short supply in the USA in the year 1960 because European demand had increased. Carpets with special colour nuances and patterns as well as oversized pieces of thicker quality have been produced for the American market in recent decades.
