Antique 19thC American Victorian Carved Wood Lift-Top Davenport Desk. Ca. mid to late 19thC. Appears to be stained pine primary, pine interior with carved hardwood elements. American made likely. Condition shows much use, some carved elements partially missing, as well some handles will need to be added. This desk owes its name to Captain Davenport, who was the first to commission the design, from Gillows of Lancaster (UK), near the end of the 18th century.
