Antique 20th Cent. Japanese Damascene Tobacco Case
DESCRIPTION: Antique Japanese damascene tobacco case originated from Japan and dating to approximately 1920s. The case is made of metal which has been ornately engraved with a Japanese fans motif on the front, sides and lid, and painted black with gilding to accent the engraving. It is presumed it was intended for small cigars or cigarillos. The hinges and clasp are both firm and work as intended. With stamp on the underside.
