Antique Asian Glazed Ceramic Vessel. Pottery vase featuring a tortoise and frog, with applied twists, sgraffito, and green glaze banding; the area near the base and foot remains unglazed. Measures approximately 11"t x 9 1/2"w. In good condition and consistent with the age and materials used. This item originates from the estate of John A. Williams, a distinguished philanthropist and renowned collector. Mr. Williams and his partner Dewitt Hart were influential members of San Francisco's art society and were celebrated for their discerning taste in modern, ethnographic, and fine art. Over the years, they hosted numerous exhibitions in their home, showcasing their prestigious collection to appreciative audiences. All proceeds of items from this estate benefit the Hart Williams Rainbow Fund, a nonprofit working with the LGBTQIA+ community in the San Francisco Bay Area.
