Antique Ayutthaya Style Bronze Double Abhaya Protection
An antique Ayutthaya style Buddha depicting the Buddha after his enlightenment from Thailand. The Lord Buddha is stood in the double Abhaya mudra. The large ushnisha protuberance on top of his head symbolizes his high level of spiritual development, in the Ayuttahaya style. The Buddha has a peaceful countenance with downcast introspective eyes and a firm brow. His earlobes are stretched long from a youth spent as a prince wearing heavy gold earrings. The torso is mounted on a wood and metal mount (later).
