Antique cast iron gem muffin pans are heavy-duty, highly collectible 19th- and early 20th-century baking molds. First patented in 1859 by Nathaniel Waterman, these "gem" pans feature individual interconnected cups designed to bake small, quick breads, popovers, or Graham flour cakes with a crispy exterior
