Antique Caucasian Kazak Rug
This amusingly stretched out SW Caucasian Armenian scatter show a tomato madder red field with a characteristic cream octagon with small chessboard mosaic corners. The weaver had extra loom space toward one end and the usual ivory boxes are enlarged to make it up. Main dark brown border with rosettes in cartouches. All wool construction. Moderate coarse weave. Good condition with a strong natural dye palette. Size: 5'7" x 7'4" (1.70 x 2.24 M).
