Extraordinary two-sheet screen, composed of two oil paintings on canvas framed in stuccoed wood. 18th century, France. Acquired from a private collection in Uzes, southern France. Representation of a river landscape surrounded by pine trees, a natural scene typical of the south of France; with a person fishing placidly. A piece that can be hung on the wall as a painting, over a headboard or fulfilling its original purpose of separating different spaces.
