Antique Hallmarked Solid Sterling Silver Candlesticks

These beautiful candlesticks are made from sterling silver although the bases and stems are filled which is fairly common. They are reproductions of a popular Georgian design with knopped stems and circular bases which are outlined with grooves. The sconces are fixed as is usual with this design of stick and they accommodate candles measuring up to 1.9 cm in diameter. The bases are covered with a black leatherette material. Both sticks are clearly hallmarked for London 1977 and they have the Queen’s head signifying this as being the Royal Jubilee year. They also have the maker’s mark of William Comyns and Sons.
