DESCRIPTION: Antique etagere for the display of okimono ("ornamental decorative items") featuring black and cinnabar lacquer throughout carved with floral reliefs and yunleiwen ("cloud thunder patterns") and sporting two drawers and four shelves one of which is behind two sliding doors adorned with shibayama scenes depicting birds among flowers and foliage. Finished with auspicious motifs on shelves including Okuninushi sack of riches and wish-granting mallet.

CONDITION: Spots of minor chipping/cracking in lacquer in spots, notably along top and on sliding doors; one shibayama application is missing and one door has a small chip in lacquer
