A fine quality antique Khmer style sandstone linga, lingum or lingam with Yoni. A a symbol of fertility and energy it is an abstract or aniconic representation of the Hindu deity, Shiva. The linga is as a symbol of the energy and potential of God, Shiva himself. An image of Shiva can be seen on the Mukhalinga. The rear of the sculpture depicts the silhouette of purnaghata, the urn of plenty holding an axe and Trishula. Sanskrit text can be seen running down the Trishula.
