An imposing and serene antique Lopburi style Lakshmi statue from Thailand. Lakshmi is the Hindu goddess of wealth, prosperity (both material and spiritual), light, wisdom, fortune, fertility, generosity and courage. The embodiment of beauty, grace and charm. Also called Mahalakshmi, she is said to bring good luck, and is believed to protect her devotees from all kinds of misery and money-related sorrows. The top of her head depicts a lotus flower promoting the energy of meditation, deep contemplation and unity with higher energy. She is stood upon a Yoni. A a symbol of fertility and energy it is an abstract or aniconic representation of the Hindu deity, Shiva. A symbol of the energy and potential of God, Shiva himself.
