Antique "Louis Meier" Grandfather Clock

DESCRIPTION: An antique "Louis Meier" grandfather clock. Features a long mahogany wood case with architectural form. Designed with a clear beveled glass pendulum door, flanked by Ionic column accents, all raised from a claw and ball footed base. Movement features a Whittington and Westminster chime, with ten tubes. Dial has a Moon/sun phase with intricately painted ship at sea motifs and etched hemisphere accents. Further designed with gilt Arabic numbering, two ionized hands, and ornate scrolling details. Similar clock by the same maker featured in the Detroit Historical Museum .Marked "L. MEIER" on reverse of movement.
