Antique "Magic Lantern" Glass Educational Slides

This is a set of 36 glass slides with photographs and illustrations of various scenes, maps, historical figures and places, etc. They come in a wood and leather box which no longer has its lid but still holds the slides well. Many of the slides have color hand painted over a photographic image. There are a couple with chips or cracks in the glass, but overall they are in good condition for their age.
