Antique Paris Eugene Clauss Centerpiece Bowl

[ translate ]

This porcelain centerpiece bowl was produced in France by the Marc Eugene Clauss porcelain manufactory between 1868 and 1896. The bowl measures 15 inches across the length of the handles. It is 8 inches wide and 6 1/2 inches high. The porcelain is elaborately molded with curved feet and handles. The hand painted decoration has similarities to that of Meissen and Dresden decorators. All of the flower decoration is vibrant and colorful. The interior of the bowl is splendid. You can see bunches of high relief fruits at each corner. Raised gold beaded and gilding are in abundance. This is a spectacular piece to use as a focal point for your dining table or buffet. Condition: Excellent. Note: Early porcelain often has minor imperfections in the manufacture that can be roughness, unevenness in the glaze, etc. These types of things can be expected with porcelain well over 100 years old.
