Antique Persian Hajijalili Tabriz Rug

This c. 1900 NW Persian city carpet features a scalloped ecru open field centred by a layered rust and navy conforming medallion, with internal volutes, tulipoid escutcheons and a central pointed cream cruciform. Triangular rust corners and an innermost, abrashed broad surround with cypresses and upright flowers. Sand main border with cypresses. Well-woven on cotton, with a brushy, firm short pile. Good condition. Size: 9'5" x 10'7" (2.87 x 3.23 M).
