Antique Remington Model 2 Sporting Rifle in 38 Rimfire Caliber
Made by E. Remington and Sons of Ilion, New York circa 1887. Blued 28" octagon sporting barrel with blade front sight and rear adjustable Notch sight with barrel marked "E. Remington and Sons Ilion, N.Y." with "38" caliber marking on underside in front of forearm for "38 Rimfire". Comes with conversion block to 38 Centerfire. Case hardened pint size Rolling block action with plain trigger. Walnut perch belly stock with case hardened factory smooth steel buttplate and matching walnut plain standard forearm with case hardened Nose cap. LOP: 13-1/2". CALIBER/GA: 38 Rimfire. S/N: 5472. FFL: Antique.
Condition
Overall good with metal fading to a plum patina. Traces of case on action with wood showing traces of original varnish. Good bore with crisp mechanics.
