Antique Thai Style Enthroned Lopburi Meditation Buddha

An antique Lopburi style enthroned meditation Buddha from Thailand. The Buddha is enthroned on an ornate pedestal. The sculpture is comprised of 8 pieces which form an ornate and stunning Buddha. 

The Buddha is seated in the Dhyana mudrÄ or 'Meditation Position' the hand gesture that promotes the energy of meditation, deep contemplation and unity with higher energy. The Buddha has a peaceful countenance with downcast introspective eyes and a firm brow. His earlobes are stretched long from a youth spent as a prince wearing heavy gold earrings.
His ushnisha and robes are decorated in traditional Lopburi style, with a Lotus flower in the centre of the forehead.Â
The patina and details of this piece are particularly appealing.
