Antique Trade Axe & Side Knife Mozambique

Colonial trade axe head dates to early 19th Century that has had a later handle added in the 20th C. The handle has a chip carved totem figure with snake above head and wrapping around the handle. Ax head has a maker's tang mark ALLE with circle. The antique side knife dates to the very early 20th Century / late 19th C. Approx 20 1/2" L and head approx 7" L and width of the blade is approx 3 1/4". Has a hand sewn and decorated sheath. The forged blade has some oxidation on the blade and appears to have been cleaned. Knife in the sheath approx 14" L and blade 8 1/4". Both items come from an old Portuguese collection and were collected in 1920s in colonial Mozambique, Africa.
