Antique Travel Clock W. Thornhill & Co, Officier, Table Officer - Bronze, Simulated turtle - about 1880

Very rare museum clock dated 1880 and signed by the famous goldsmith and master clockmaker William Thornhill & CO, London. 100% original item, complete with its travel case and winding key. The clock is in perfect working order. The body is made of tortoiseshell and has some small veins/cracks. The clock case is made of bronze. It weighs 450 grams, so it is rather massive. Dimensions: heigth 8 cm, width 7 cm, thickness 2. 5 cm. On the back of the case is the number 54Z066. This timepiece is a witness to the history of fine English craftsmanship. A rare and museum worthy piece.
