He arrived in Palestine from Morocco in 1742. It is said that he established a study room with a section for women. The synagogue was handed over to Ashkenazi Jews and remained as such until 1948. It was not damaged in the war, and after 1967, it was re-furnished and reopened. Nothing distinguishes it in terms of size or architecture.
