Anton Zeller (Germany, 1760-1840). An antique oil painting on canvas. An allegorical work depicting two angel artist, one with a musical harp, and the other with paint brushes, posing on a stack of artist books about RAPHAEL TITIAN and CORREGE. Signed ZELLER p. 1818 at lower left corner. Work is presented in an antique gilt frame that retains a number 645 plaque at bottom center. Provenance: This item originated from a distinguished auction event hosted by Sotheby's in October 1995, designated as LOT 3851 at the Neues Schloss (New Castle), Baden-Baden, Germany. It was a part of the royal collection belonging to Margrave Max von Baden (1933-2022), a prominent figure in European aristocracy and the first cousin of Prince Charles III. This auction showcased a selection of valuable items from his esteemed collection.
