\Artist: Antonio Bellucci (1654-1726)
Technique: Oil on canvas\Signature: Not signed\Dimensions: 84_62_5_cm
ANTONIO BELLUCCI (Pieve di Soligo, 1654 - 1726) “Gesù Bambino” Oil on canvas, cm 70x47 (canvas only) Bibliography: F. Magani, Antonio Bellucci. Catalogo ragionato, Rimini 1995, ad vocem Traced back to Antonio Bellucci’s catalogue by Professor Michele Danieli and independently by Professor Enrico Lucchese. The painting is in good state of preservation and is an interesting artist’s proof from his young age. The style and drafts, in fact, still reveal the suggestions of his first masters Pietro Liberi, Antonio Zanchi and Andrea Celesti, with echoes of Alessandro Varotari’s classicism. The work probably dates back between the eighth and ninth decade, finding correspondences with the Baby Jesus present in the “Adorazioni dei Magi” of Houston (Magani, pp. 76-77, no. 7) and with the putti of “Venere and Marte” already belonging to the Steffanoni collection of Bergamo, dated 1690 ca. by Magani. We thank Michele Danieli and Enrico Lucchese for the attribution. No major restorations have emerged under Wood’s lamp. The canvas has been re-lined and re-stretched at a later time. The work is accompanied by a frame in wood and gilded stucco in good condition, offered as a gift. From a private collection, with certificate in accordance with art. 64, Legislative Decree 22 January 2004, no 42, of the Law on Cultural Heritage and Landscape (Italy) . Accurate packaging and insured shipping via courier. In case of any delivery-related issues, before giving a negative/neutral feedback, please contact us and we will be glad to help you find a solution. Thank you.
